November 6, 2007—The days and evenings at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair are busy with grand events.  The 2007 Royal is no exception as Canadian breeders of horses and representatives from equestrian sport meet with a special group of delegates from the Fédération Equestre Internationale, also known as the International Equestrian Federation or the FEI, for the Breeders’ Round Table on Thursday, November 8, a facilitated discussion championed by the Equine Canada Breeds & Industry Division.

 June 9, 2007 --- Member of Parliament for Calgary Centre, Mr. Lee Richardson, announced today on behalf of the Honourable Chuck Strahl, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Minister for the Canadian Wheat Board, that the federal government will invest $409,000 this year in support of the ongoing international market development work of Equine Canada’s Breeds & Industry Division.

The bilingual online marketing database, Equine Canada Breeds & Industry Guide to Horses and Ponies for Sale in Canada, is being developed to increase exposure for Canadians selling quality prospects of all breeds and sport and racing disciplines.

March 22, 2007 - With matching funding support from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) under its Canadian Agriculture and Food International (CAFI) Program, the Equine Canada Breeds & Industry Division Export Market Development Strategy enables member associations to participate in generic activities that promote Canada’s reputation as a world leader in supplying high quality, safe and innovative products produced in an environmentally-responsible and sustainable manner. The Strategy aims to "Brand Canada" as a quality producer of horses suitable for racing, FEI and non-FEI sport, breed specific competition and breeding.

Breeds & Industry Division Integral in Increasing Compensation to Owners of Horses Ordered Destroyed | Print |

February 26, 2007 - After 19 months of review and through consultations with the Equine Canada Breeds & Industry Division, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), under the authority of the Health of Animals Act, has recently increased the maximum level of compensation available to owners of horses ordered destroyed due to infectious disease.

February 26, 2007 - Equine Canada Breeds & Industry Division is developing a plan to promote horses for sale in Canada to our counterparts in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and we need your input. We have identified the immediate need for 240 show jumping horses and ponies of all levels for two training and boarding stables in Dubai.
